Rural Lands Study
The Rural Lands Study sets the strategic direction for managing the rural lands of Hornsby Shire. The Study applies a place-based approach to planning for rural areas and addresses new pressures and opportunities impacting on rural lands management.
Since finalisation, Council has implemented the short term recommendations of the Study. This includes the introduction of planning controls to support productive land in rural areas, manage land use conflicts and protect rural scenic character. Council is currently advancing strategic investigations recommended by the Study, with the preparation of the Glenorie Village Place Plan underway. Implementation of other recommendations will be undertaken with consideration of Council priorities, resources and funding availability.
