Heritage and Housekeeping Planning Proposal
The aim of the Heritage and Housekeeping Planning Proposal is to improve the operation, accuracy, and interpretation of the Hornsby Local Environmental Plan 2013 (Hornsby LEP). The Planning Proposal seeks to amend the Hornsby LEP by introducing new heritage items and amending or removing existing items listed in Schedule 5 Environmental Heritage. It also seeks to remove text and mapping references to land within the Parramatta local government area.
The Planning Proposal was considered at the 8 May 2024 Council Meeting, with the report to Council available here. Council resolved to progress the Planning Proposal for Gateway determination.
A Gateway determination was issued by the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 2 August 2024 confirming that the Planning Proposal may proceed to public exhibition. Progress of the proposal can be monitored on the NSW Government Planning Portal website.
Council exhibited the Heritage and Housekeeping Planning Proposal from 26 August 2024 to 23 September 2024, and a report on submissions was prepared for Council. At the 11 December 2024 Council Meeting, the Planning Proposal was endorsed.
The Planning Proposal is currently in the process of finalisation. All documentation can be found on Council’s Your Say website.
