What are the objectives of the targeted identification and review of heritage items?

The objectives of the Targeted Identification and Review of Heritage Items project is to:

  • Identify potential new items in the Hornsby LGA not previously studied or protected in Schedule 5 of the HLEP, specifically:
    • (i) Potential new items constructed post 1940; and
    • (ii)  Potential new items in remote, river and rural areas of the LGA
  • Review the viability of retaining statutory heritage listings for existing heritage items in Hornsby’s high-density areas with building heights of 16.5m and over.
  • Prepare heritage inventory sheets for identified properties that are recommended for heritage listing.
  • Assist Council with protecting and managing the heritage resources of the Hornsby LGA.
