Construction

Development is a key part of the Shire’s strategies, priorities and economy.

Council recognises that construction activity including excavation, demolition and building works can cause disruption and impacts. Some impacts may include:

• noise
• traffic disruptions
• construction workers vehicle parking
• vibration

It is important to note that our development application process involves an assessment of impacts that development may cause. To ensure that works are managed appropriately, the preparation of plans such as construction management, traffic management, erosion and sediment control, and tree protection will be required. This helps to:

• minimise the impacts of the works on the community and the environment
• ensure Council’s assets are not damaged
• maintain the general safety of the community during periods of construction.
