Wollundry Park Playground
20 Dec 2023 – Updates about the vandalism to Wollundry Park
Wollundry Park, Pennant Hills recently fell victim to an unfortunate act of deliberate vandalism, resulting in unrepairable damage to the playground equipment. This act has been reported to Hills Police.
The damaged section has been secured to prevent access, and as soon as practical the damaged pieces will be removed. Undamaged swings can continue to be used.
Hornsby Shire Council is disappointed for the young families who enjoy Wollundry Park, however as this park was due for renewal, we are now excited to bring this forward and see what we can achieve in its place. It will be a lengthy process as in the first half of next year we will hear from our residents on what they would like to see in a new play environment and we will then design a concept. Playgrounds are customised and manufactured to order, so this all takes time. Once this has been delivered to site, we will be looking to commence construction, likely in the second half of 2024.
Thank you for your understanding and patience with this so we can take the time necessary to create a park that our local families will enjoy. If you have any information about the incident, please contact Crimestoppers NSW on 1800 333 000.
