This popular 3 hour 15 minute (5.7km), moderately challenging bushwalk in the upper valleys of Lane Cove National Park showcases a rich variety of birdlife and wildflowers. Along the iconic sandstone ridge, many small birds such as honeyeaters, wattlebirds, and wrens may be seen, and native flowers abound. The Devlins Creek and Byles Creek valleys we may be lucky enough to observe the resident powerful owl. And who will be the first to spot the whale?

Walk Grade: 3 (moderately challenging) - Sections of trail are hilly, steep and rough, with the occasional shallow creek crossing. More information about walk grades.
Suitability: Adults and older teens (16-19 years) with a little bushwalking experience and a moderate level of fitness.
Supervision: Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note:

  • It might be worth bringing a spare pair of socks as some of the creek crossing may get your feet wet.
