Playaway Launchpads

Playaway Launchpads are offline, secure learning tablets that have fun and educational pre-loaded applications to support and enhance your child’s various learning stages. The Playaway Launchpad applications are grouped by age, theme, grade and subject area such as English, Maths and Science.

VOX™ Audio-Enabled Book Readers

VOX™ Books combine picture books and non-fiction with audio recordings that capture children’s attention and make learning and literacy development fun. Inside of the front cover is a permanently attached 5mm VOX™ reader device which reads aloud at every flip of a page. Children simply push a button to listen while they read.

Your library’s new collection is available for loan only from Hornsby and Pennant Hills branches. There is a limit of two book readers per card.

How to Access these Collections

Launchpads can be borrowed on an adult’s library card by an adult for a period of two weeks. VOX™ Books can be borrowed on an adult’s library card by an adult for a period of four weeks. Items can be reserved but cannot be renewed. The collections are based at Hornsby and Pennant Hills libraries (VOX™ Books only) but can be requested from any Hornsby Shire library branch. Standard overdue fines apply.
