Ron Payne Park Oval Upgrade Works

Council is undertaking significant capital works at Ron Payne Park to provide increased and improved open space for the local community.

Background

In 2022, to guide the facility upgrades at Ron Payne Park, Council created landscape concept plan for the park. Key elements of the concept plan include:

  • New drainage and irrigation work of the oval
  • A new Amenities Building
  • Accessible pathway works connecting entry to playground and new amenities building.
  • Providing communal spaces and additional seating for park users.
  • A new kerbed carpark and sandstone terrace seating, both are subject to funding.

The Ron Payne Park upgrade is proudly funded by the NSW State Government Funding and Hornsby Shire Council.

Oval Upgrade

The oval works will include drainage, irrigation and reshaping of the natural turf surface.

Construction is scheduled to commence Monday 4 November 2024. During construction the oval will be fenced off and unavailable for use.

Building Works

In March 2024, the new amenities building at Ron Payne Park was completed.

The new amenities building includes female friendly change rooms, canteen, storerooms, enhanced public toilets and is universally accessible. The building is using a solar hot water system and has storage tanks for rainwater reuse.

Along with new building improvements to the park have included upgrades to paths, carpark and drainage.
