The aim of the project is to provide new opportunities for dogs to run off-leash in a contained area.
Key elements of the project will include:
- Adjustments to the existing fence to create two separate spaces including a new area for small dogs
- Additional fencing to the north of the existing dog park to extend the available space
- Installation of new park furniture
- Installation of new drinking fountains with dog bowls attached
- Weed removal
- Tree planting for shade.

Project updates
Construction is planned to commence in February 2025 and conclude in April 2025, weather permitting.
The off-leash dog park will remain open to the public during the construction period however sections will be fenced off and unavailable for access as required to facilitate construction of the new small dog park.
April update
The pathway connection between the car park and Binnari trail is now complete and works are progressing on the dog park extension. New concrete paths have been poured and park furniture will be installed once the concrete has cured. Final fencing and landscape works are underway and are expected to be complete by mid April. The small dog park will remain closed until mid-May to allow the turf to establish properly and ensure that it is ready for our furry friends to explore. Council will also be providing new turf to high wear areas in the existing dog park. Temporary fencing will be placed around these areas to give the turf an opportunity to establish properly.
