Update February 2022

Following the community consultation period in December 2021 and January 2022. Council has revised its upgrade plan to take on community feedback.

Works are to be undertaken in three areas at Lisgar Gardens as part of this upgrade plan.

  • Firstly the entry area is to be upgraded with a new concrete path from the middle of the carpark to the entry. This path will broaden to a sandstone paved landing area for seating, signage and pram parking. The sandstone entry staircase will be retained although widened at the base to reveal the sandstone pillars that mark the entry. The adjoining retaining walls will be upgraded to sandstone for longevity.
  • Secondly, the access from the inclinator to the accessible amenities will be improved with regrading of the ramp down to the pavilion and a new path installed adjacent to the pavilion to facilitate access to amenities during events within the pavilion.
  • Thirdly the installation of a new amenities / information centre and a combined maintenance/ storage and staff lunch room facility to the level below. These facilities will be located along a new boardwalk that will open up a previously private part of the gardens.
