Glenorie Memorial Park
Council has prepared plans for an upgrade to the Glenorie Memorial Hall Park. Works include:
- Restoration of the existing war memorial
- New circuit path and additional seating and picnic areas
- Additional tree, shrub and groundcover plantings
- Street tree planting to Old Northern Road
- New accessible ramp to the Memorial Hall
Alongside Council’s works Glenorie Progress Association is delivering a sandstone pillar style fence to the boundary of Old Northern Road.
Restoration of the war memorial were completed in 2022. These works were funded by Council and a Community War Memorials Fund grant from the NSW Office for Veterans Affairs.

Project Updates
October 2023
Landscape renewal works are now complete including:
- A new pedestrian circuit path around the park.
- A new picnic setting and two park seats.
- Tidying up of the garden beds including new trees, shrubs and grasses.
September 2023
Concrete paths works have been completed and works will begin in September to tidy up the garden beds and plant new trees, shrubs and grasses.
August 2023
Landscape works will commence at Glenorie Memorial Hall Park mid August 2023 and take approximately four weeks.
Works will include construction of a new concrete circuit path around the park and installation of new park furniture. The project includes a tidy up of existing garden beds and new tree plantings.
November 2022
The new plaques have now been installed on the sandstone plinths and the memorial was rededicated in a ceremony organised by the Glenorie RSL subbranch on the 23rd of November 2022.
The memorial now features an additional plaque that remembers soldiers that were lost and never returned.
October 2022
The following additional works have now been completed:
- Concrete paving works to the perimeter of the memorial including granite cobble feature paving
- Installation of five sandstone plinths to the perimeter of the path that will house the plaques relocated from the WW1 memorial.
- Uplights have been upgraded.
The new plaques will be installed within the next couple of months.
August 2022
The restoration works to the main WW1 war memorial have been completed. It will shortly be followed by paving works to the perimeter of the memorial and the installation of five sandstone plinths to the perimeter of the path that will house the plaques relocated from the WW1 memorial.
