Fagan Park off-leash dog park
A new off-leash dog park is proposed for Fagan Park. The dog park will be fully fenced in rural style fencing with double gates at the entries.
A Concept Plan has been prepared for the project in accordance with Council’s adopted Off-Leash Dog Park Strategy (PDF 50.8MB).

October 2024 Update
In October, construction commenced on the entrances and seating pads. It is anticipated all concrete works will be complete by early November in anticipation for the fencing works which is scheduled for mid-November.
All works are scheduled to be complete by the end of November, weather permitting.
September 2024 Update
In August and September, Council amended and finalised the design drawings for the off-leash dog park.
In October, it is anticipated construction of the entrances, pathways and park seats will be undertaken, with the fencing works to be undertaken in the following months due to fencing contractor availability owing to the specialised nature of the work.
July 2024 Update
Following Council’s May 2024 resolution, three potential sites within Fagan Park were evaluated based on environmental and heritage impacts, accessibility and compatibility with existing uses.
Council deliberated on the matter at the 10 July 2024 Council meeting and resolved:
THAT construction of an off-leash dog park proceed at Fagan Park in the current proposed location consistent with the adopted Off-Leash Dog Park Strategy.
Construction works will recommence on site once contractors are available to proceed with the works.
May 2024 Update
At a Council meeting on 8 May 2024 Council resolved to pause work on the project until other locations within Fagan Park can be considered.
