Brickpit Park, Thornleigh

Playground improvement works

Upgrades to Brickpit Park playspace are now completed.

The upgraded playground includes the following:

  • embankment play including slide
  • Inclusive play equipment
  • Junior water play
  • Shade sails over slide and waterplay area
  • Picnic shelters
  • Fully fenced playground
  • Accessible grade pathways
  • Tree planting
  • Interpretive signage and brick walls featuring heritage bricks
  • Custom tower
  • The playground retains the existing flying fox, swings & climbing net in their current locations

The project was jointly funded by the NSW Government ‘Places to Play Grant’ and Hornsby Shire Council.

Delivery of the off-leash dog park area is planned for the first half of 2025

New signage installed at Brickpit Park – November 2023

Council has updated the signage at Brickpit Park.

New pedestrian entrance to Pennant Hills Road – Opened October 2023

The repairs to the fallen section of heritage walling along Pennant Hills Road are now completed. Along with the installation of a new entry path and brick pillars.

Shortly new entry signage will be installed.

Brickpit Heritage wall updates

New Amenities Building – Opened July 2023

The amenity building construction in Brickpit Park is now complete and open to the public. The facilities include two accessible toilets and four unisex ambulant toilets.

New Park Circuit Path – Opened December 2022

The new circuit path around Brickpit Park is now complete and open to the public. The new pathway works provides a continuous loop around Brickpit Park for park users.
