Appletree Park Renewal
The renewal of Appletree Park was completed in June 2022.
Works included:
- Over 120 new trees including a mix of native and exotic species following removal of a number of mature Pinus Radiata trees that were in declining health
- A new playspace featuring a colourful climbing unit, swings, and a rocker, replacing previous equipment that was damaged and burnt from vandalism
- New lighting on the accessible path connecting Kanangra Crescent to the local shops and bus stop
- A large amount of open space retained for active and passive recreation
- Retention of a bushcare site within the park
Grass seed has been applied to areas outside of the playspace and once germinated will provide grass cover amongst the new trees. The park will transform in Spring once the trees burst into new leaf providing shade to the play space.
This project was proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Hornsby Shire Council.
