Pyes Creek Elevated Walkway
Following community consultation and public exhibition undertaken in September 2021, Council has progressed with the project to install an elevated walkway in Pyes Creek Bushland, between Keighran Place and Fallon Drive.
The ‘Pyes Creek Elevated Walkway’ has been selected as part of the NSW Public Spaces Legacy Program.
The purpose of the NSW Public Spaces Legacy Program is to provide long-term value by funding new and/or improved high-quality public and open spaces ensuring a legacy well beyond the COVID-19 economic recovery period.
The works includes design and construction of a low-profile single span swing bridge for pedestrians and connected walking track upgrades with sandstone and raised platforms in Pyes Creek Bushland.
Proposed works include:
- Elevated walkway design and construction
- Connecting walking track upgrades and sandstone steps
- Track head formalising and landscaping
- Wayfinding signage installation
Works are scheduled between July 2022 - April 2023, weather permitting.
Council apologises for any inconvenience during the works and appreciates your patience.
This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Hornsby Shire Council.
