Following a three-year hiatus, it’s time to enjoy a free alfresco movie extravaganza for all the family as Screen on the Green returns on Saturday 3 September at Hornsby Park with the thrilling adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

For one night only, Hornsby Park will come alive with a giant cinema screen, roving entertainment and free popcorn. Some of Sydney’s finest food trucks will roll into town for movie goers to grab dinner or a sweet treat.

Bring your picnic rug or lie back on one of the bean bags and settle in for the main event, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (PG), starring Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan.

The film follows four teenagers in detention who discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of. When they decide to play, they are immediately sucked into the jungle world of Jumanji in the bodies of their avatars. They’ll have to complete the adventure of their lives filled with fun, thrills and danger or be stuck in the game forever!

“It’s so exciting to see our regular events returning after a challenging few years, bringing people together from across the Shire. Screen on the Green is one of our most popular family events and this year is promising to be a real highlight with a fantastic movie that’s full of action and adventure,” said Hornsby Shire Mayor Philip Ruddock.

Screen on the Green will take place on Saturday 3 September at Hornsby Park, Peats Ferry Road, Hornsby. Gates will open at 5.30pm for a 6.30pm movie start.

There will be limited numbers of bean bags available for seating. So come early to find a great spot and bring your own picnic blanket or low foldable chairs.

Hornsby Shire Council presents all events according to government guidelines to keep everyone safe from COVID-19.
