New direction for West Epping Bowling Club

Hornsby Shire Council is in the process of acquiring the West Epping Bowling Club from the Panthers Group. Settlement is expected to occur in August .

Council intends to retain the site as open space and will work with the community to develop a recreational facilities plan.

The site is adjacent to Council’s West Epping Park which incorporates a large and small soccer field. In summer these fields are used for cricket. Next to these fields is an indoor sports centre run by the YMCA. This facility provides a range of indoor ball sports and gymnastics. Part of the site also incorporates a pre-school. The lower part of the Park contains tennis courts and netball courts.

Councillor Nick Berman, Mayor of Hornsby Shire Council commented: “This will be a positive addition to the existing park. We will be working closely with the YMCA as well as the rest of the community to develop a plan that best reflects the needs of both current and future users.”
