Monika values health and wellbeing. She enjoys gardening, bike riding, swimming, tennis, and walking. A long-term resident of Pennant Hills, former committee member of the Pennant Hills District Civic Trust, and now in her second term on council, Monika thrives on contributing to her community.

Through her studies in Landscape Design and Holistic Land Management, Monika understands the correlation between environmental health and human health and that regenerating the land is of greatest importance.

Monika is also an advocate for more corporate responsibility of waste, more safe cycle ways, better tree protections, and affordable, accessible, energy efficient homes.

She is practical, compassionate and focused on equitable solutions to help build healthier environments and stronger communities.

Priorities

  • Rapid Implementation of the Sustainable Hornsby 2040 strategies with a focus on health, reducing waste and building safe connected cycle ways
  • Executing on strategies to deliver affordable and sustainable housing
  • Creating a community that is inclusive and equitable for all cultures, ages, and abilities.

Background 

Monika works for a local team of ecologists, helping the community reduce their chemical load on the environment. She has studies in Landscape Design, Holistic Land Management and Permaculture. Prior to this, Monika spent 20 years in the corporate sector in business relationship roles.
