Ben is married and has one son. He has lived in Cheltenham/Beecroft his whole life, attending Beecroft Public School, and James Ruse High School. He completed a mechanical engineering degree at Sydney University and an MBA at NSW University. This is his first term as a Councillor.
Priorities
- To be accessible and open to community engagement and discussion. Ensuring the community of Ward C is heard and informed on the goings on of Hornsby council. Both the short term and longer term visions of the council
- Ensuring that as our area grows we continue to maintain our wonderful community, heritage and bushland within our beautiful suburbs.
Background
Ben worked as a mechanical engineer for 20 years. Designing and delivering drinking and recycled water filtration systems, and also medical devices for industry and local governments throughout Australasia.
Ben has played football at Beecroft Wombats, West Pennant Hills Lions and Gladesville Hornsby and tennis in the local area, as a junior and senior, coaching both adults and kids in both for the last 12 years.
Ben has been the P&C President at Beecroft Public School, and still runs a weekly greening program on Friday afternoons at the school.
He has been the Youth Minister at St Johns, Beecroft.
Ben is also a runner and has run the tracks around Hornsby Shires Great North Walk all his life.
