Seatbelt detection cameras
Seatbelt detection cameras come into effect on 1 July 2024
Phone and seatbelt detection cameras will start to detect drivers and passengers who are not properly wearing a seatbelt from 1 July 2024. Penalties will apply from 1 July for drivers detected not wearing a seatbelt properly or with a passenger not wearing a seatbelt properly. There won't be a warning letter period.
